Belmont and its affiliated companies (“Belmont”) comprise of a blend of experienced professionals with a diverse background in Development, Construction and Property Management. We are active in the housing industry in Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas providing affordable housing for over 30 years.  Our mission is to create and enhance affordable housing for our residents through exceptional service and care while profitably maturing the investments of our owners and financial partners.

Belmont Development Company

Belmont Development Company (“BDC”) was formed in 2007 with the majority of its focus on developing affordable housing through USDA-Rural Development and Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (“LIHTC”).  As Developer, BDC’s main responsibilities include securing LIHTC and other government-administered funding from various agencies, securing financing from lenders and investors, and overseeing the development during the construction phase. BDC has developed over 40 communities with over 2,500 units.  BDC is an affiliate member of the National Council of State Housing Agencies.   Development was also a founding member and continuing supporter of the Oklahoma Coalition of Affordable Housing.

Belmont Construction Company

Belmont Construction Company (“BCC”) was formed in 2007 and serves as the General Contractor for Belmont’s rehabilitation and new construction developments.  Since its formation, over 42 communities with over 2,200 units have been completed.  BCC strives for quality, safety, and timeliness on all of its developments.

Belmont Management Company

Belmont Management Company (“BMC”) was formed in 2004 and serves as the Management Agent for Belmont owned properties and unaffiliated owners of multifamily housing.  BMC manages over 100 communities that comprise over 5,000 units. BMC is committed to offering complete property management services including marketing, leasing, maintenance, tax credit compliance, accounting, and financial services.

Intra-Urban Investments

Intra-Urban Investments (“IUI”) was formed in 2004 and serves as the holding company for IUI Housing of Oklahoma, IUI Housing of Arkansas, IUI Housing of Kansas, IUI Housing of Texas and IUI Housing of Missouri. These IUI held entities hold Belmont’s general partner interest in the properties it owns.

SDR Investments

SDR Investments (“SDR”) was formed in 2009 in order to serve as a Consultant on LIHTC developments.  SDR has been the consultant on over 10 successful developments creating over 800 units of affordable housing.  SDR is actively involved in market rate and commercial real estate joint ventures.  SDR is the majority owner of IUI and holds the limited partner interest in several of Belmont’s properties.

Key Principals and Personnel

Ryan Hudspeth

Hudspeth is the founder and a Key Principal of Belmont.  Hudspeth leads the operations of Belmont with the majority of his focus on the overall financial management of the Belmont Companies and BMC’s operations.  Prior to founding Belmont, Hudspeth was a director with Commercial Group, Inc., a Kansas based affordable housing development and management company.  Hudspeth is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and received his MBA from the University of Missouri.

Derrick Hamilton

Hamilton is a Key Principal of Belmont.  Hamilton joined Belmont in 2006 and is a founding principal of BDC.  Hamilton is integrally involved in the operations of BDC and BCC with the majority of his focus on overseeing BCC’s construction activities.  Prior to joining Belmont, Hamilton worked in the pharmaceutical industry.  Hamilton is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a BA in Psychology.

Shawn Smith

Smith is a Key Principal of Belmont and joined the organization in 2007. Smith’s primary focus involves overseeing BDC activities and working closely with financial partners to secure financing for Belmont’s developments.  Prior to joining Belmont, Smith owned and operated a consulting business and was employed by the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency.  Smith is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a BS in Business Finance and received his MBA from the University of Central Oklahoma.

Corey Farmer

Farmer is the Vice President of BDC and joined the organization in 2012. Farmer specializes in originating development opportunities and the preparation of competitive funding proposals. Prior to joining Belmont, Farmer was employed by the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency. Farmer is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a BS in Business Finance.

Lainey Schubert

Schubert is the Development and Loan Analyst and joined the organization in 2015. Schubert coordinates construction financing, investor capital calls, financial analysis, due diligence delivery, and BMC to transition properties to long-term operations. Schubert is experienced in simultaneous loan closings with multiple lenders. Prior to joining Belmont, Schubert worked for various third-party management companies and a Housing Authority. She is a graduate of Kansas City Community College and Western Governor’s University.

Pamela Miller

Miller is the Development Coordinator and joined the organization in 2018. Miller focuses on application preparation for sources of funding and due diligence for closing as part of the development team. Prior to joining Belmont, Miller was employed by the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency and Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity. She is a graduate of Baker University with a BS in Accounting and the University of Kansas with a JD.

Cathy Beulyn

Beulyn is Office Manager and Construction Coordinator and joined the organization in 2019. She manages the office and works closely with BCC’s principals, superintendents, and municipalities on multiple rehabilitation and new construction projects. Before Belmont, Beulyn successfully co-owned an electrical contracting business where she worked with government officials, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and employees. She is a graduate of Colorado Mountain College.
